The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme is an integral part of the company’s strategy to contribute to the nation, including the development of villages’ economic and social potential. PT Astra International Tbk implements its CSR through the flagship Kampung Berseri Astra, which encompasses the pillars of education, health, the environment and entrepreneurship to empower local communities. This study aims to analyse the impact of CSR on the development of tourist destinations in Kampung Berseri Astra, Surabaya, particularly within the framework of sustainable tourism. This research employs a qualitative approach, utilising peer-reviewed literature, secondary sources from national and international journals, and the latest publicly available data on Astra’s CSR programmes. The results indicate that the implementation of CSR has a positive impact on local capacity to promote tourism potential, enhances the capacity of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) linked to tourist attractions, and strengthens collaboration between the community, government and the business sector. CSR also contributes to village infrastructure development and improved welfare, which indirectly strengthens the destination’s brand image and appeal. The main challenges remain related to synergy between corporate CSR and local government programmes as well as the capacity of local tourism human resources.
